Sunday Magazine With Liz Saint John 06.23.2013

Liz Saint John interviews three guests every Sunday morning covering a variety of issues and topics. She talks with representatives from Bay Area non-profit organizations, documentary filmmakers, authors, and professors.

1. Mary Pipher, author of Reviving Ophelia and The Shelter of Each Other, takes on global warming and what she calls a tidal wave of traumatic information about the environment rushing into our lives every day. Her new book is The Green Boat: Reviving Ourselves in our capsized Culture.

2. Historian and archivist Lynn Downey talks about her new book “A Short History of Sonoma.” Downey is the hisotiran for Levi Strauss & Co. in San Francisco.

3. Tim Seelig, conductor of the San Francisco Gay Mens Chorus, and Andrew Lippa, talk about the upcoming  musical “I am Harvey Milk” that premiere’s on June 26th, 27th and 28th at Nourse Auditorium. Lippa wrote the words and music and sings the lead. The musical features the SF Gay Mens Chorus and also stars Laura Benanti.
